1.Who were your heros while you were growing up?  Why?
2.What kind of person did you see yourself becoming? Did you become that person?
3.What events in your life altered you from your path?
4.Do you ever wish you could've done something else instead of what you're doing?
5. What are you looking to do in the future?
6.What did you want in life then compared to what you want now?
7.Do you think God guided you in any certain way?
8.Were there any people who helped you in life to make these decisions?

Interview Summary

Stephen Greenblatt: "So that represented my own little rebellion."

This man to me is amazing, his life in what he has accomplished is phenomenal.  How he grew up encompassed with stories and other literature to me sounds like heaven, even though none of his family were people of the arts, they still made time for them.  As well as allowed their children to engulf their subconciousness with themes, imagination and free flowing opinionated thoughts.  I wish more families were like that these days.  Mr. Greenblatt also speaks of how he was influenced by the many books he read as a child as well as a teacher(s), Sam Granger and John Harris, who opened his mind to the influences of intellectual integrity as well as showing him what can happen when you open up you mind to literature.  And even though this brilliant man had the brains and college acceptances to go to law school, he continued to want to pursue English, specifically Shakespeare, because of the way it captured him.  So in order to learn more he spent two years in Cambridge studying and learning all that he could, but at some point he decided to bite the hand that fed him, he engrossed himself in what was suppose to be uninteresting to him.  He wrote many, many of his thoughts about Shakespearian literature as well as some of his own books in order to have people understand more, or uncover more about the things that were written.  Overall the paths that this man took for his life made him extraordinary, and I hope that my paths may even possibly do the same for me.

I think...

There are times, like right now, when I look back down the paths I have chosen and wonder if this is who I am suppose to be...  But the more I ponder this very question the more things I come to realize.  I chose that path because of my want to help others.  I chose that other path because I never want them to face their demons alone.  I chose this path for the people I love, so they wouldn't know pain without me there beside them to help pick them up and fight beside them.

The Way the World Operates...

There are certain kinds of people in this world.  People that plan everything before it happens (Well-Planned Life) and those who just ride the rollercoaster to see what may be thrown at them (Summoned Life).  The Well-Planned Life to me sounds  boring, like something those weird Type A people cling to in their lives.  Something that won't ever change, and they are okay with that but that doesn't appeal to me.  Where are the Summoned Life tends to make things exciting,  it exposes you to the elements leaving you bare and waiting fo the next adreanline rush to have you end this high.  It's all by random, never knowing what exactly is behind each door they face.  But the memories that follow each decision is what is key to being happy with which ever one you follow.
